How to play

Open the official Roblox game page and join a server. Chameleon Roblox is free - no purchase required. Rounds run continuously with up to 16 players.

Understand your role

Each round assigns you as a Hider or the Seeker. Roles rotate so you'll play both. Hiders paint and hide; the Seeker finds them. The goal differs by role.

As Hider: paint your dummy

At round start, find a color pool matching the surface you'll hide against. Step in to coat your dummy. Pick your hiding spot BEFORE choosing a pool.

As Seeker: sweep the map

Paint Pick your spot before your pool

The #1 beginner mistake is grabbing a random color and then looking for a spot. Decide where to hide first, then get the matching color. Wrong color = instantly visible.

Silhouette: Press flat, don't stand

A standing dummy has a human outline even with the right color. Press flat against the surface to eliminate your silhouette. This one habit doubles your survival rate.

Stillness: Freeze during the search

Movement is the #1 way Seekers spot you. Once blended, do not move a pixel. It feels unnatural to stay still that long, but it's how you survive.

Cover: Use corners and objects

Flat walls in open view are risky even with perfect color. Corners, recesses, and spots behind objects add occlusion - a second layer of cover on top of color match.

As Seeker, go slow

Rushing as Seeker means you miss subtle mismatches. Walk slowly, scan each surface, and look for the three signals: wrong color, silhouette, movement.

Learn from both roles

Playing Hider teaches you where Seekers look; playing Seeker teaches you where Hiders hide. Every round makes you better at the other role next time.
